Facts Questions Responses
The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to the United States.  How much did it cost to make? How long did it take to build it? Why did they give it to us?  That is a really nice gift.
Between 1800 and 1970, 40 million people left Europe for North America.  Did Europe really have 40 million people? Over 40 Million people only LEFT Europe but some stayed in Europe so I am pretty sure that atleast 50 Million stayed.
America's first immigrants came on foot 30,000 years ago, they came across a land bridge. They came from Asia to Alaska. Did their feet hurt? If so, did they have doctors to help? I wonder how long it took them.

I don't think I could ever survive a trip on foot because the trip MUST of been long.

No because they came from Russia then across the part that used to connect Alaska to Russia then went across Canada to the USA

Everyday new immigrants arive in America.  How did they get here?  There must be ALOT of immigrants for the guards to inspect.
The Chinese were the first asians to immigrate to the U.S in large numbers.  I wonder how many Chinese came? About 300,000 immigrants arrived on the West Coast between 1850 and 1882.
Immigrant children played in the streets.  Were there alot of immigrant children?  I wouldn't do that!
Many Jew children were put down because of their ethnic group How many Jew's lived in Europe at the time? did they all try to go to America?  They couldn't be put down in America its the land of the free!
Some of them moved from Russia, poland,United States. I wonder why? Because they went from Russia to poland to aboard the boats and get to America. Just like in Letters from Rifka!
3 out of 9 immigrants stayed in Ellis Island.  How many people lived there?  alot!
Immigrants who sailed into New York after 1886 were greeted by the Statue of Liberty.    The Statue of Liberty came from France in 1886!
When you move to a new country why can't you move back.
The largest number of immiagrants were from Germany.  I wonder how many exactally moved into only Milwaukee?   They moved there because that place had the best farm lands.
The jewish lived in a life of poverty.

They moved here because of there ethnicity. Wow! it must have been hard.

Because you moved for a reason and if you go back to your homeland the miss treat ment you had might happen again.
Only Steerage passengers were required to go to Ellis Island. First and second class passengers were given their medical inspections on the ship. why did only steerage have to go to Ellis Island?

I believe there are still some comments on here that need to be revised. Who ever made the comment we discussed in class needs to revise that as soon as possible.

Mr. Lueck, I thunk that the person who did isn't going to delete it because they know you know they made the comment.
